Trial Run One

This winter will be full of recipe testing and business planning. I will be embarking into territory I've only heard about in passing. Photos and posts of my benchmarks will document my progress.

The photos above are of my first focaccia bake off in months. I baked two loaves of a basic focaccia bianca in a friend's kitchen in Boston.

The focaccia came out great, but does not resemble the focaccia I wish to sell. I hope I can count on my friends to eat my trial runs as I go. I don't want to tire on focaccia before I even begin!

I am planning on hosting a number of baking parties throughout the year so that friends and family can learn how to bake and create such wonderful bread. Please let me know when you would like to take part!

I look forward to feeding you.

  1. Surely, I applaud your efforts here. This is your arena Kellen. You have been a baker since you were about 6 years old. Such a natural place for you to be, in the kitchen, by the oven, peering in at the goods, behind the glass. I cannot wait until I attend one of your bake-offs. My taste buds quiver in anticipation.
